Springing into Spring

Friday, 09 September 2022

I don’t know about you, but I certainly have more spring in my step now that Spring has arrived.

I am ready to get out and explore what Geelong & The Bellarine has to offer.

Check out these ideas. Perhaps I might see you out and about.

Anyone for Mini Golf?

I love mini golf! Even when I try to play seriously something will happen and I can’t help but laugh. It is a great way to get moving and have some fun. Check out these local courses.

Bellarine Adventure Golf

Set amongst beautiful gardens complete with creeks and waterfalls, the two 18 hole ingeniously crafted courses will keep players of all ages both entertained and challenged. Multi-level greens, tricky water hazards and sticky sand traps ensure that everyone's games certainly will be an adventure in which both luck and skill play a part.

Curlewis Golf Club

Navigate water, rocks and tunnels as you tackle this cool two-tiered mini golf course. There are two levels per hole: challenging and extreme as the Study Geelong Ambassadors found out! You may even want to have a hit on the driving range and practise your swing.

Explore the Barwon River Trail

The Barwon River Trail consists of more than 20 kilometres of sealed paths following the Barwon River. The Trail provides links to a number of reserves, parks, playgrounds, golf courses, a waterbird sanctuary, a waterfall and wetlands.

The Southern path starts from the car park above Buckley Falls, and follows the river along the Queens Park golf course before passing under the single-lane steel bridge over the Barwon River and continues on to Barwon Valley Fun Park, with plenty of play equipment and barbecue facilities available for visitors.

The Northern path runs through the Fyansford common before reaching the junction of the Moorabool and Barwon rivers.
The trail continues along the banks of the river to Balyang Sanctuary and on to the boatsheds, John Landy Athletic Field to Breakwater Road.
