Getting Here

By Air: Avalon Airport is 20 minutes from Geelong and Melbourne Airport is an hour away. Pick up a rental car at either airport or take the shuttle buses into Geelong.

By RailV/Line trains run regularly between Melbourne’s Southern Cross Station and the Geelong line, and buses link train services to the towns and suburbs of The Bellarine.

By Road: Geelong is an hour from the Melbourne CBD via the Westgate and Princes Freeways. Bellarine and regional towns are within half an hour of Geelong.

By Sea: Searoad Ferries connect Queenscliff and The Bellarine with the Mornington Peninsula, the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne and Phillip Island. Park your car below deck, enjoy a coffee and spectacular views, perhaps encounter dolphins and relax knowing you’ve avoided a tussle with Melbourne city traffic. The 40 minute crossing departs every hour, every day between 7am - 6pm (plus a 7pm service from 26 December – 31 January).

Getting Around

It’s a compact region, easy to explore by car. Drive half an hour from Geelong in any direction to discover a new experience – delicious food and wine, spectacular coastline, historic towns or adventures in nature.

If you’d rather relax and let someone else worry about the driving, there are plenty of tour companies offering personalised service. A guided regional tour or winery wanders or even a cruise around the region in a vintage convertible – there’s a service to suit your style.
