Beach by the Countryside

Hi everyone, I hope your day has been amazing so far. My name is Divyansh and in this blog, I am going to write about my visit to Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale.

If you have lived in Geelong, you are bound to plan a last-minute trip to the countryside beach. In my case, it was a visit to Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale, delightful resort towns on the Bellarine Peninsula. An interesting fact about Queenscliff is that the population is something around 3,000 which grows up to 17,000 in the holidays, Isn’t that amazing.

After reaching Queenscliff, our first impression was how peaceful it is and the weather was also amazing. Queenscliff is situated right beside beautiful beaches and  piers and you can hear waves and horns from the ships if it’s a little silent. Having planned nothing and with a common love for sweet delicacies, we knew that we had to stop somewhere and try ice-cream, so our first stop was a shop called The Ice Cream place on  Hesse Street. The ice cream was fantastic and so was roaming from one shop to another. We didn’t have ample time to spare but we still did not want to leave out any place on the way. We just went outside and started strolling from one place to another. On the way, we met officials working for Victoria Fisheries authority, and had the opportunity to have a chat and ask what exactly is it that they do. It was a unique experience for someone who comes  from a city which does not have large bodies of water around which could support ships or boats.

We then moved towards the Point Lonsdale beach. It was one of most wonderful beaches I have seen in Geelong. It was silent, there were kids learning to surf and people walking on the shore lines. It was windy, sunny and astonishing. We also got the opportunity to see the Point Lonsdale lighthouse. It was a little dark at that time, but we still met some people who were fishing and caught some right in front of us. The photo shown below shows Rip View Lookout.

It was an amazing day and we saw many cool places and met cool people on the way as well. I would suggest everyone to visit Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale and see what this area has to offer and I am sure that you will have an amazing time.
